Worth it, really. Today, though, she's already finished her shift and is just about to head back to the hostel, but that... is definitely a familiar face lurking near one of the stores. ]
Arenvald! Hey!
no subject
So Rion catches him gawping at a storefront, in awe at the sheer variety of things inside. Thank the gods for his fellow Circle members, the familiar faces are a nice break from all of the... everything about this place, and it's good to have people to help explain things. ]
Hello there Rion! What are you doing here?

Arenvald, I need-
[A pause. He exhales, his voice sounding more tired, yet laced with more urgency than before.]
I need to see you when you have the chance.

The response is a little delayed, if only because it takes him a bit to figure out how to work the damn thing. ]

[to meet up with them, and make sure that they're okay]
[for every familiar face that passes by, Akira lifts his head and gives them a slight, subtle nod. and, in Arenvald's case, he greets him with--]
Nice weather we're having today, huh?
[-- a really stupid joke]

He returns Akira's nod as they pass, but that joke stops him in his tracks. Akira pls. ]

action; after the return to the temple
Connor is patient. As a general rule, androids are patient, made to wait until told otherwise, quietly, silently. But Connor had always been a bit of an anomaly on that front — returning to CyberLife, he would always wait, of course, his company only white walls, the ambient hum of lights, and the echoing footsteps of armed guards. But free to act within the city of Detroit, he would always move. Could not find it within himself to sit and only sit, to stand and wait and only wait.
He can’t wait, not right now.
He moves down the hallway to locate what he knows is Arenvald’s room. Knocks on the door three times.]
Arenvald? It’s me, Connor.
[Waits, knocks again, nothing. A frown tugs at his lips and — processing propriety against his wish to speak with his friend — Connor makes the executive decision to try the door. It swings open slowly, having apparently been unlocked.
Connor steps in, curious, gazing around. Looking for any sign of Arenvald, he wonders briefly if he’s not here — but there are noises, the sound of water running, so surely not.]
no subject
Connor’s knocking and entry into the room goes completely unheard, since Arenvald was quite happy to zone out under the water. However, he’s probably been in here longer than he needed to be, and decides at last to make his exit to throw some clothes on and flop into bed for a bit.
Off goes the water, and Arenvald doesn’t bother to wipe off the steam-coated mirror once he steps out, opting instead to run his fingers through his hair and leave it at that. He knows what he’ll see, anyway, and he dislikes looking at that angry mass of scar tissue. Deep gouges concentrated mostly on the center of his forehead, save for one mark that bisects his right eyebrow, traveling down to his cheek, and one more that travels across the bridge of his nose, biting into his left cheek a bit.
Those marks are the last thing his mother ever gave him.
However, Arenvald doesn’t dwell on it much – made easier by the fact that he doesn’t want to look at it – and with a towel wrapped around his waist, he steps out of the washroom—
And there is Connor. In his room. Connor is in his room and Arenvald doesn’t have any clothes on. Why is this happening.
To his credit, he manages not to start glowing instantly, but he sure does stare like a deer in the headlights. ]
Connor? What— um, what are you doing here?

action; lake dona things!
Interesting. Eyes cast upwards to the glittering surface of the water. He wonders if this could be used as a mode of exploration, especially for the curious, adventuring sort. The kind that maybe wanted to unravel the mysteries that this lake potentially held, via drifting lazily across it.
Maybe eventually he could find out.
————
At some point, he’s found a long branch, which he keeps planted into the shallow part of the lakebed as he stands on a lily pad at the shoreline. Ready to “kick off”, Connor pauses as he spots a very familiar face drawing near.
Appearing pleased to see that he’s been doing better, and with no reason to not say hello, Connor raises an arm and waves at Arenvald from a distance.]
no subject
Connor has taken it upon himself to play gondolier and when his waving catches Arenvald’s eye, he can’t help but laugh, jogging over to meet up with his friend. ]

Stops.
Backs up. Looks again. What on earth??
It’s probably embarrassing to admit how long he puzzles over these little notes before the blatantly obvious even occurs to him. So embarrassing, we won’t mention exactly how much time it takes for the pieces (Perfect, uniform handwriting. A picture of a dog.) to slot into place, but we will say that sometime the next day, Connor gets a call. ]
This is probably a strange question, but did you leave notes in my room?

surprise action;
So when she wants to see people, she usually just... goes. If they aren't there, they aren't there, just like normal. She tries back later. (But she hopes he's there!) The sound of clopping hooves probably gives away the visitor's identity before she even knocks, so maybe it's not a surprise, but.]
Arenvald? It's Konoha... Are you in?
[... She knocks with a hoof. Sorry, she's got a big pumpkin in her hands.]
no subject
However, he’s sort of half dressed at the moment, having just finished smearing his usual warpaint over his face to go out and face the day when Konoha knocks on his door. He doesn’t really think much of it, only that he doesn’t want to keep her waiting, and pulls the door open for her. Hey there. :) ]
Hey Konoha, give me a moment to grab a shirt, but you can come in if you like.

early november sometime idk time to mope like idiots
more moody than usual, that is, and for reasons that are far more mundane than the usual world-saving comrades-in-peril sort of way, but instead, entirely personal. a strange feeling, really.
nevertheless, here she is, sitting alone in the kitchens with her face in a bowl of chocolate chip ice cream. no one need know that this is in fact her third bowl.. ]

But he'd be lying if he wasn't at least partially hoping Arenvald was still here too, for his own sake. Selfish as it was...
Confined to bed for the moment the wristwatch was the only method to reach out. So he does.]
Arenvald, if you are able please let me know you are all right. [The fact that the message went through is a good sign, right?]
no subject
But to hear the voice of a friend is always a good thing. After their brief reunion, Arenvald lost track of Alphinaud in all the chaos, and he had wondered if his friend was among the many who had vanished from the Circle’s ranks. Not so, apparently, and as selfish as it is, he’s glad that Alphinaud is still here. ]
