Injured? Alphinaud, why didn’t you— [ say something? Because he couldn’t. Because he was unconscious. Arenvald feels guilty, to be honest. He’d been so wrapped up in fighting the shadow creatures and dealing with the rift that he hadn’t even thought to check on his friends. Alphinaud was capable… with his magic. But without it? Gods, he should have been better about keeping track of the others – never mind how near impossible that might have been thanks to the chaos. ]

I’m so sorry. I. Um. Would you mind a visitor?

You need not apologize for anything. 'Twas my own folly. [So he has to reap the consequences. This includes his injuries and also being thoroughly scolded by his sister.

He smiles at Arenvald's offer even if his friend can't see that.]

Not at all. You are always welcomed and I would certainly welcome some company besides.

I’ll come by then. Would you like me to bring you anything?

[ He could probably pilfer something from the kitchens on his way over, or else bother Konoha for something quick to eat if she’s feeling up for it. ]

Unless you happen to have a spare book or six you needn't trouble yourself.

[He's pretty bored just sitting around. He's definitely run out of books of his own to read at this point and while he can venture outside he can't get too far on his own. Alisaie keeps them well stocked with food also so he never needs anything on that front.]

Ah, no. I thought carrying around books was your job.

[ Arenvald is here for heavy lifting, not library work.

But as he says it, he heads towards Alphinaud's room. It isn't long until he's there, having selected his own room to be near to Alphinaud and Alisaie anyway. Even if his friend is expecting him, he figures it polite to knock first, so he does, politely rapping a knuckle against the door a couple of times. ]

Alphinaud? It's Arenvald.

[ Duh. ]

[Wow there is plenty of heavy lifting to be done in libraries, Arenvald!!

Anyway despite the short time Alphinaud managed to nod off for a few seconds so the polite knock is appreciated. He's started awake but it doesn't take him long to open the door for him. He smiles in greeting.]

Though I knew you were well 'tis still good to see you hale and whole. My thanks for stopping by.

[There are bandages visible around his right wrist and around his shoulder where the collar of his sleep shirt is loose but he seems no worse for wear. Beyond still a little half asleep.]

[ Lifting for nerds!!

He has no idea what sort of condition Alphinaud is in, so it startles him when he actually shows up to open the door. Nice to know that he isn’t completely bedridden. ]

Good to see you too. Did I wake you?

[ It kind of looks like he did. ]

[And, sometimes, lifting the nerd himself...

Alphinaud yawns in response which is probably all the answer he needs. He waves his hand dismissively anyway.] Aye, I think I dozed a bit but I am fine. I've certainly done enough sleeping. [But that's how the body heals, he supposes, so he will endure the frustration of being tired all the time.]

You did not suffer any injuries yourself during the battle, I hope? [He looks just fine but Alphinaud wants to be sure anyway. He has plenty of healing items to use if he has to. But he knows Arenvald and Alisaie are more capable than he is about defending themselves with only a sword in hand.]

[ Okay, but Alphinaud is basically the same as lifting one (1) book. So that’s whatever.

His friend does indeed look tired, but at least he is here to look tired. It just means he’s on the mend, and that’s all Arenvald could ask for. ]

Nothing quite so bad as you. [ He rolls a shoulder. ] One of those creatures got their claws into me at some point, but I came out alright.

[ What’s a few puncture wounds, right? They’re still a little tender, but largely healed. ]
