[Very mangled words, but. It sounds so exotic!]

And there are like... lots of them? Not just a few in legends?

That’s right. Au ra actually hail from Othard, the land across the sea from Eorzea, but there are a few who made the journey over.

[ As they walk, he spins to walk backwards a bit, facing her as he asks, ]

Are there only humans and jinba where you come from?

[lumberlady]

Wow...

[Dragon people... it's hard to imagine. But also, great coordination, Arenvald!]

Yeah, that's all. I mean, that's all that's... people.

[... Intelligent, she means.]

All the humans are the same color, but jinba have a lot of variety? And there's field jinba, and mountain jinba... and my boss, Sha-go, she's only this tall!

[Her hand is... rather low. Like, miniature horse centaur low.]

We’ve the roegadyn and lalafells as well. They don’t have any… animal-like features, but they’re distinct enough on their own.

[ Arenvald cannot help but imagine a lalafell centaur at that height – though lalafell, being the smallest race Eorzea has to offer, only get to be three or so fulms in height, so the mental image is rather funny. ]

It sounds as though you have the spectrum covered. Your world sounds fascinating.

Really? It's normal for me... your world is the one that sounds more interesting!

[Or, wait, is thinking that also normal? It is, right?]

I hope if we have to go to another world again... that it's at least one with green and animals and things. Not all metal like the last one.

Ah, Struxta was certainly an interesting first experience for visiting another world, wasn’t it? I can’t think of a place more different from home.

[ He breathes out a laugh. He’s sure that for people like Connor, it was probably a welcome sight. ]

I hope so, too.

[lumberlady]

[She puts her hands over her eyes for a moment while she walks, haking her head at the memory.]

I know we have a lot of metal people [androids, robots] here, but...

“Metal people”?

[ He has to chuckle at that, mentally going through his list of the Circle's resident robots. ] We do have quite a few of those, don't we?

[lumberlady]

What do you call them?

[She smiles a bit self-consciously at her own inability to really remember all the different terms.]

There's... "robots" and "cyborgs" and "androids" and I don't really get the difference...

[paladorable]

I don't either, to tell you the truth.

[ He hadn't even heard the word "cyborg" before. ]

I bet Connor would probably know.

[lumberlady]

I bet he would, he's so smart!

[Konoha has a lot of admiration for the intelligent, rather pure and somehow not even jealous. She was content with her own abilities, even if they weren't the same.]

He helped me with the "watch", and even with dogs.

[paladorable]

[ Arenvald is much the same – he knows what he’s good at, and thinking isn’t it. He’ll leave that to the more learned among them. If there is aught that needs to be hit with a sword, then he’s your guy. ]

He helped you with dogs? How do you mean?

[lumberlady]

Oh, um- I'm not that good with... dogs. Or wolves.

[Her smile turns a bit apologetic, scratching behind an ear. He's been around her enough to have maybe noticed the scar on her left forearm. A bite-shaped scar.]

So Connor turned into one and let me pet him and smell him and stuff.

[paladorable]

[ He might have noticed but didn’t really think much of it until now. He makes it a habit not to think too hard on other people’s scars, mostly because he would wish the same curtesy were anyone to see what lies beneath the constant swath of warpaint across his face. ]

I don’t think anyone is much good with wolves, but I’m glad Connor is helping you out when it comes to dogs. He’s a good guy.

[lumberlady]

Right?

[She laughs a bit at how much she agrees with that, starting to count on her fingers.]

He's kind, he's super smart, he's helpful, he tells interesting stories, he explains things when you don't understand-

[ He’s glad to see that Connor has friends here who think as highly of him as Arenvald does. ]

Actually, now that I think on it, I didn’t realize you two knew each other.

[lumberlady]

[As far as Konoha is concerned, everyone should think highly of Connor. And Arenvald.]

The circle seems to keep getting bigger... but. I want to try and get to know everyone at least a little bit.

[It seems only polite, they're all stuck here together, but-]

Some more than others, though. Don't tell.

[ Well, he would agree with her on that first point. The second… mayhap not, but no one needs to know that. ]

Playing favorites, Konoha? How dare you.

[ He can’t even get that out with a straight face. ]

[Konoha tries to reply seriously, to keep the joke going...

She just laughs instead.]
