No one else from my world, I don’t think, but there were a few of them here when I arrived, else we showed up at the same time. It’s nice to have familiar faces here, so I’m glad you’ve a friend. I should like to meet him, sometime.

[ It’s hard to imagine a jinba bigger than Konoha, but his knowledge of the types of horses out there is pretty limited, and besides, jinba might have unique clans among themselves, like the races of his home world. ]

Where I come from, we use the word “hyur”, but best I can figure, that pretty much means “human”. Probably the same as the difference between “jinba” and “centaur”.

Oh, I see! "Hyur"!

[She flubs the pronunciation a bit, but! That explanation made plenty of sense.]

I figured I'd check, haha... in my world, humans are all one color with black hair... and Arenvald looks more like a jinba to me. Er- your top half, I mean!

[Like... he'd definitely be a really large, handsome mountain palomino...

[ He does kind of wonder what he’d look like as a jinba, but likely not for the same reason Konoha is imagining it. ]

Where I come from, hyur come in all shapes, sizes, and colors, to say nothing of Eorzea’s other races, which offer even more variety.

[She's thinking... a head or two taller than her... a nice, dark honey coat just a touch darker than his skin tone, feathery white hocks like the mark on his face, pale blonde hair and tail...

R- really? I guess a lot of other worlds are like that, cause there's so many people here with colors I've never seen before. With all those types of people, your world really doesn't have any jinba-like people?

No, nothing quite like jinba. I think you’d fit right in, though, just by the sheer scope of peoples my home has to offer. Mayhap there’s a version of Eorzea out there with jinba, too.

What kind of people do they have? Um- bear people? Deer people?

We’ve the miqo’te, who have feline features – ears and tails and that sort of thing – and au ra, who have scales and horns, a bit like dragons.

[Wow... cat people and dragon people?]

And there are like... lots of them? Not just a few in legends?

That’s right. Au ra actually hail from Othard, the land across the sea from Eorzea, but there are a few who made the journey over.

[ As they walk, he spins to walk backwards a bit, facing her as he asks, ]

Are there only humans and jinba where you come from?

[Dragon people... it's hard to imagine. But also, great coordination, Arenvald!]

All the humans are the same color, but jinba have a lot of variety? And there's field jinba, and mountain jinba... and my boss, Sha-go, she's only this tall!

[Her hand is... rather low. Like, miniature horse centaur low.]

We’ve the roegadyn and lalafells as well. They don’t have any… animal-like features, but they’re distinct enough on their own.

[ Arenvald cannot help but imagine a lalafell centaur at that height – though lalafell, being the smallest race Eorzea has to offer, only get to be three or so fulms in height, so the mental image is rather funny. ]

It sounds as though you have the spectrum covered. Your world sounds fascinating.

Really? It's normal for me... your world is the one that sounds more interesting!

[Or, wait, is thinking that also normal? It is, right?]

I hope if we have to go to another world again... that it's at least one with green and animals and things. Not all metal like the last one.

Ah, Struxta was certainly an interesting first experience for visiting another world, wasn’t it? I can’t think of a place more different from home.

[ He breathes out a laugh. He’s sure that for people like Connor, it was probably a welcome sight. ]

[She puts her hands over her eyes for a moment while she walks, haking her head at the memory.]

I know we have a lot of metal people [androids, robots] here, but...

“Metal people”?

[ He has to chuckle at that, mentally going through his list of the Circle's resident robots. ] We do have quite a few of those, don't we?

What do you call them?

[She smiles a bit self-consciously at her own inability to really remember all the different terms.]

There's... "robots" and "cyborgs" and "androids" and I don't really get the difference...

I don't either, to tell you the truth.

[ He hadn't even heard the word "cyborg" before. ]

I bet Connor would probably know.

I bet he would, he's so smart!

[Konoha has a lot of admiration for the intelligent, rather pure and somehow not even jealous. She was content with her own abilities, even if they weren't the same.]

He helped me with the "watch", and even with dogs.

[ Arenvald is much the same – he knows what he’s good at, and thinking isn’t it. He’ll leave that to the more learned among them. If there is aught that needs to be hit with a sword, then he’s your guy. ]

He helped you with dogs? How do you mean?

Oh, um- I'm not that good with... dogs. Or wolves.

[Her smile turns a bit apologetic, scratching behind an ear. He's been around her enough to have maybe noticed the scar on her left forearm. A bite-shaped scar.]

So Connor turned into one and let me pet him and smell him and stuff.

[ He might have noticed but didn’t really think much of it until now. He makes it a habit not to think too hard on other people’s scars, mostly because he would wish the same curtesy were anyone to see what lies beneath the constant swath of warpaint across his face. ]

I don’t think anyone is much good with wolves, but I’m glad Connor is helping you out when it comes to dogs. He’s a good guy.
